Report: Cyprus repays loan taken from Russia before maturity
MOSCOW, Sep 2 (PRIME) -- Cyprus has redeemed a 2.5 billion euro loan taken from Russia in 2011 before maturity, Bloomberg reported on Monday, citing the Cypriot finance ministry.
The loan, taken at 4.5% annually, was to be repaid by July 2016, but in 2013 it was refinanced with the interest rate cut to 2.5% and the repayment of the core debt postponed to 2018–2021.
